Dr Samuel Amo-Mensah

Dr Samuel Amo-Mensah is a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology and the founder of SamJ Specialist Hospital. His clinical career has focused on women’s health, maternity care and fertility services.

After completing his medical education, Dr Amo-Mensah undertook housemanship training at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. He subsequently worked as a medical officer at St Patrick’s Hospital in Maase-Offinso and served as District Medical Officer of Health for Offinso. His interest in helping people with fertility and gynaecological concerns led him to specialise in obstetrics and gynaecology.

His published career history includes work at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Provita Specialist Hospital in Tema, where he gained further experience in obstetric, gynaecological and fertility care.

Dr Amo-Mensah later served at the Ghana Police Hospital as a specialist and Medical Director. He retired from the Ghana Police Service with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

He founded SamJ Specialist Hospital in February 2010 in Haatso, Accra, and continued his work at the hospital after retirement from the Ghana Police Service.

The hospital’s mission is to provide prompt, holistic healthcare in a welcoming environment for individuals and families.
